From
time to time circumstances dictate that costs must be reduced. In
times when 70% to 80% of costs are wages, it is inevitable that this
will mean redundancies.
Alongside this unpalatable reality, is an ever increasing body of
employment legislation which can leave the unwary exposed to claims
of unfairness or incorrect treatment when staff leave.
Particularly if there is the possibility of ill feeling, distress or
financial hardship arising from the departure.
One
of the best ways to avoid these problems and to make a positive
contribution to former employees future prospects is to provide redundant staff
with a practical way of finding new jobs via outplacement services.
As
veterans of the recession of 1990-94 we are well equipped to
provide these services to both employer and employees. For
employers, we can provide advice and assistance in dealing with
redundancy programmes, particularly with regard to how the process
is handled. We will meet with employers to discuss their plans, if
required. For employees, we can work with the individuals to
develop the most effective way back into the workforce.
We
provide a one to one employee consultation, including an industry
overview, an assessment of the individuals CV, advice on making
applications (including online), how to navigate the interview process, and how to
handle recruitment agencies. This can be held either at the employers
premises or at our Central London offices.
We
will then remain available to that individual for as long as he or
she needs the service.
